I strove to make the computer lab a place of work, not play. I started each class with an assignment that built on what we had been learning in our classroom and allowed the kids to print only when they had completed their assignment. I desired each child to leave with a knowledge of some keyboard shortcut skills and an understanding the computer is a tool not for gaming but for working and creating.

This concept map was created by one of my students. This is an example of his ability to write and talk about himself. I was in shock when I made this assignment during the last 3 weeks of school. Most every child showed their ability to write and organize their work by using kidspiration and making a web about themselves. This project showed me how much I had taught my kids.
